chest textures freaking out

Been discussed with both Patrix and Traben, only an issue when shaders on, model and textures are as expected with shaders off. happens with all shaders, some worse than others, but most visible on Patrix test map where chests are placed. mainly second layer that freaks out, but can happen to base layer if viewed from acute angles too. Patrix 128x & all other res packs. Happening with released versions of EMF/ETF, Iris & Sodium, but also tested with new alphas from unstable releases

remving the models pack (where the .jem file is) has different result, flat textures with strange shadows, like it's not recognising the non-full block.

Distant Horizons 2.1.3-a-dev Iris 1.7.3 / Sodium 0.5.11
How in the world you get that working??? :thonkwithshades:

Server fork

One thing is certain, Distant Horizons 2.1.3-a-dev made changes to its rendering engine that Iris 1.7.x is rendered incompatible, at least in the usual sense. Unless you're running a super old version of this server fork, your game should've crashed trying to load all those mods together.

Possibly, been following the thread for a while, using one that I know worked. But that’s not the issue here, those chests! Bump

this looks like it have shadow problems, install starlight if using higher than 1.20 or if lower use starlight and Phosphor

Starlight was no longer required as the shadow code was incorporated into MC if I recall, even the mod dev said not to use it and it is not updated Anyone? This is still ongoing

I think this might be related, it's possible they didn't log that the mod isn't compatible. I'm having some of the same issues on my 1.20.1 with the 2.1.3 Dev Some mobs, and specifically the chest is not working correctly on my own game. That's the best answer I got.

No, there’s a pre release for EMF compat in Dev from Traben, and this issue is still present without DH loaded - still not solved, thanks though Plus, with shaders turned off, models work fine

I've got a few people looking into it on my end, I'll send any updates if we can figure out a way to fix it. Where can we find the pre-release EMF?

So we were able to make it better using the patrix basic woolfix However, the skins for the mobs are still messy.

Hmmm, I made the woolfix, it shouldn’t affect the chests at all - skins for mobs messy? Something not right there if using EMF/ETF from dev blog plus woolfix is not needed in 1.20.4 and up, Could you check the pic/original issue as I did point out it’s mainly second layer of chests above ground level ones causing the problem. I will check the woolfix pack later after work, that makes no sense - you are also using the Patrix pack for 1.20 - that’s quite a few versions old The issue is only happening with Java 21 in mc 1.21 (need to check that on 1.20.6 though)
