hi, looking for relaxed/baggy fit cargo pants recommendations. specifically… bruh I ran out of spac-

Specifically those from “regular brands” such as Abercrombie, Levi’s, Zara, etc… don’t want to be spending too much on pants but as carrion mentioned I want to have variety. For fit, I would like something like the following picture below for reference:

having a clear idea of budget would probably help

I think around $50-$75 per pant Maybe around the $100 ish max and they gotta be absolute heat for that price Like if they were some needles I might get one pair for low 100s

Also for context I will be mostly wearing with hoodies/sweaters. Nothing too fancy. Quite chill overall and some sneakers

defenechi3mo ago
I think it’s a variety thing. I think for the most part I want my pants to be “this” baggy Kinda scared to be “too baggy”
Shrimp
Shrimp3mo ago
While you’re in the common brand range, i’d look through zara, cos, muji and uniqlo

Lean in to the bagginess Btw there are many different cuts of loose pants
defenechi
defenechi3mo ago
Yeah I think I need to learn more about cuts I don’t know much about cuts rn Gonna take a shower rn then put on the new hoodie I bought and the pants and see how the combo is Do I need more baggy, baggy enough, I will see

Widening (like jnco) Flare leg Oversized and straight legged (Y2K style carhartt) Circular/balloon (anglan/harvesty) Extra loose oversized (needles HD/army m61 overpants) Huge/hakama legs (yohji)

again I appreciate all the fashion knowledge here. my fear is standing out too much and I don’t wanna be tooooo baggy. Just like a little baggy to go with my outfit Balenciaga hoodie I got is pushing it and I’m still hesitant to bust that out But we got time before it’s cool fall weather I’ll figure it out

I was in high school too brother. I hear you

defenechi3mo ago
Thanks man ur so great At the end of the day I’m just wearing hoodies it’s not that complicated of an outfit as what you all are putting together

Shrimp3mo ago
When I get back, I’m gonna send over some different fits and have you tell me the area that you’re looking for specifically Part of the challenge is sizing. Different sizes look different. See: needles HD on me vs on char They look like 2 different pairs of pants

For cargos there’s some good surplus out there as well. Austrian Army Cargos can be had for pretty cheap and they just come in a generic olive - you just have to remove the cinches from the bottom if you want that (or not).

also following up my note on sizing and fit. Here are the same pants in different sizes (slightly oversized on me and worn lower on hips vs 'correct' sized on char worn higher on the hips) [Needles HD BDU]

same thing can be done in reverse for pants that you like that are more slim than you want get them a size up and wear them with a belt or in some cases they have a built in tie on the waist like the BDUs
defenechi
defenechi3mo ago
Yeah these are nice options thanks. What do you think of the ones I posted above? And I can’t tell the difference between the work jeans and the straight jean or whatever it’s called in abercrombie I think I might get a pair of the bdus to go with the balenciaga hoodie as my “ultimate outfit” for when I’m out in nyc or something and not a school setting
Shrimp
Shrimp3mo ago
I think I like the Carhartt WIP ones the most. Also the camo ones. Personally I dont love the way that black/grey looks when its artificially faded so those two in the middle dont do it for me as much. But thats personal style preference Light wash jeans are always a fantastic choice imo as long as the cut is good

With like this crossbody Yeah I think that’s a good pair to have. Do you have any idea what the difference between the workwear and the other one is?
Shrimp
Shrimp3mo ago
the work jeans have an extra work pocket and a hammer loop on the leg and a slightly different light wash
defenechi
defenechi3mo ago
Oh ok, thanks Idk which to get haha The baggy cargo Abercrombie is not bad. Not sure to get the black or the olive Also carhartt is out of my size I think sadly might have to go in person later
Shrimp
Shrimp3mo ago
really gonna depend on your crowd but loud logos arent really it for me and most people around here you're young so your tastes might change over time do whatever you think is right
defenechi
defenechi3mo ago
Oh sorry that was just for reference. That’s the cross body I own and bought last summer Carhartt has 31 waist for 30 length The Levi’s I tried yesterday were 32 waist not sure how big of a difference that would be
Shrimp
Shrimp3mo ago
that'll be a significant difference probably
defenechi
defenechi3mo ago
It is also final sale which is quite risky. I think I’ll go in person one day later on
Shrimp
Shrimp3mo ago
both companies use signaificant vanity sizing so its hard to say
defenechi
defenechi3mo ago
Yeah 👍 I think plan for now is two pieces from abercrombie. One cargo pants and then one baggy jean
Shrimp
Shrimp3mo ago
those abercrombie cargos arent very wide or baggy at all you might consider sizing up they pretty much look like a slim straight cut you're gonna have the same problem as the relaxed fit levis you tried on
defenechi
defenechi3mo ago
Hm ok Would be worth to go try in person I think I’m hesitant to buy from like hollister or pacsun lol

I think this is minimum bagginess I need I think I like it like this and probably a little more baggy is enough
Shrimp
Shrimp3mo ago
yeah just as a note though you should be thinking of the top vs bottom weight of your outfit always best to be even weighted or bottom weighted so if you're wearing a super oversized and baggy sweatshirt
defenechi
defenechi3mo ago
Hm alright thanks Yeah this why I need the needles for the balenci
Shrimp
Shrimp3mo ago
you're gonna want something that balances on the bottom
defenechi
defenechi3mo ago
I’m over at a friends house rn with family but when I get back I can sent fit pic of the pants with the new hoodies I bought The Maison Kitsune and Ami are both slightly oversized boxy I also did find out that I like to fold up the hem for a cleaner cut on the waist
Shrimp
Shrimp3mo ago
I made this as reference for someone elses Q&A. They have a different body than you do, but I think the example is still relevant!

defenechi3mo ago
If I don’t fold it up it doesn’t look good imo becuase my legs are too wide and it makes me look too wide Can send pictures of that example as I’m talking about as well
Shrimp
Shrimp3mo ago
yeah send reference pics when you can
defenechi
defenechi3mo ago
And I think another thing I would like to address is colors What goes with what and I can send my upper body wardrobe for good pant color selection I have mostly whites, greys/one silver mm6 supreme hoodie, blues One red supreme zip up Ah I’ll compile all the photos for your ease later when I can
Shrimp
Shrimp3mo ago
for that, you should make a new Q&A thread
defenechi
defenechi3mo ago
Wow really? So many lol
Shrimp
Shrimp3mo ago
yeah, i cant answer questions full time haha. once the thread gets buried you arent gonna get many new people commenting dont worry about making many threads on different subjects i'd also recommend searching for threads about wardrobe colors many people have asked those questions before

defenechi3mo ago
Oh ok 👌 Sure

Watch out with the Abercrombie workwear stuff, a lot of it is stretch fabric. They lump them all together as diff color options of the same cut but the material varies based on color so just something to consider
defenechi
defenechi3mo ago
Oh interesting What is the difference between the fabrics?

the names would imply the 'rigid denim' has no or less stretch than the 'signature stretch fabric' product details confirms it, the baggy jeans are 100% cotton while the baggy workwear pants are 98% cotton/2% elastane it is up to you what you care about more - the 2% elastane makes the baggy workwear pants more stretchy (in theory) but will also cause the pants to wear out more quickly than the baggy jeans
defenechi
defenechi3mo ago
Ah I see. I can barely tell the difference between the two so I think I’ll opt for the “baggy Jean” instead then
