worbling on layer 2 (ASA)
i print primarily in ASA in my vcore3.1 500
240/110, 245C for first layer. stock fan at 20% or so starting on layer 2.
not sure why this happens in some places and not others on some of my prints. this wobbling on layer 2 or 3.
sometimes it seems like it happens more when the z-offset is too low. i don’t know if it’s a fan issue or not. should i have no fan? or turn it up? it is my mystery. the rest of the print comes out fine.

Try 35% fan.
i tried 40% and it looks a bit better.
i was having warping and lifting issues before, but my bed was very very scuffed. i got a new bed plate and its adhesion is very very good, so i think it can handle the extra cooling
i can’t get my enclosure above 70C or so since i have an exhaust fan venting out the styrene fumes & hot air
Probably need to seal up the cracks in the chamber better. Have you dried the filament?
i’m replacing the gantry and rebuilding the vent system this weekend. after that is setting up some filament drying. either an inline heater or just a big spool chamber. i do some small batch production so i’m always using 5kg spools
i have some printed crack sealers that rest flush against the seam between the aluminum frame and the acrylic panels, and i’ve sealed those seams again from the outside with some electrical tape
my build is all black so the tape doesn’t really stand out 🙂
Rtv silicone can be good for sealing too:)
wouldn’t that adhere my frame and panels together? i need to be able to disassemble this thing
Not adhere so to say you can cut it with a razor blade easily.
it’s still there just a bit. 40% this time. also switched from 0.2mm to 0.1mm layer height with 0.2mm first layer
