checking storage configuration
Can someone tell me what else I can do , I am unable to install bazzite on rog ally x. I have 4 tb ssd and I partition 1tb . I disable fast boot from windows. And still getting errors . Have no clue what else to try. Here’s are some pics. Been trying for over 2 days

did you resolve this? i cant see what the problem is in these pics - is the installation getting stuck at this point?
errors in the log like that while installing - do they resolve when install process is finished? also bazzite has typically took a bit longer han other distros - it would look stuck; but never was
in my experience seeing errors in the log while install isnt necessarily a failure, unless its actually hanging at that point
sorry if i'm being unclear: what happens if u just wait - does it continue, or is your ally frozen?
you also mentioned you cloned the drive in dms with me, how did you clone it?
I used macrium reflect from my old ally
@Swayze_Mane the issue I’m having is when selecting the ssd as you seen in the pic , it doesn’t allow me to use it for some strange reason
It shows my drive as you can see but it doesn’t want to let me begin installation
im heading back to bed though but i figured the cloning stuff might be an important detail for why it doesnt work
i would maybe try get something like an ubuntu or popos installer and try see if you can edit the partitions with gparted.
heck maybe run a disk check from windows to see if that detects anything weird with the partition table or something. at least thats what i thought about
anyways goodnight
Thanks have no clue how to do that but good night , I’ll keep researching
right click the C drive in windows and it should be under tools
for the ubuntu or pop os installer you can get them here (they are a different linux distro) and they should have a program called gparted that will let you edit partitons and it does a partiton table check when it starts and will ask you if you want it to fix it if it is slightly broken (like having the wrong size vs physical size)
Ok @HikariKnight get some sleep and I’ll try some of this stuff later , worse case I can always put back the original ssd and test it
So I have to get Ubuntu or pop os to check the partitions , you mention I can get it here but I don’t see it but I’ll mess around with this tomorrow
btw have you ever opened the "click for details"?
Yes doesn’t really say anything
I wonder if I should I try putting my stock ssd since there nothing on it and try dual booting that one
empty or there is text, maybe could help
The other user mentioned he strunk his 4tb to 2 tb and it work and I just tried it , and now it will let do the install
It’s weird that I need to give 2 tb of space for bazzite and not a 1 tb of space
maybe its anacondas automatic install thing that is weird
anaconda can be very tempremental 😭
I’m trying to switch it to 1.5 tb and see if that works because I only wanted to give 1 tb not 2 tb
or maybe it just needed you to adjust the partiton table again for some reason?
How do I adjust I’m the partition section of windows mgmt
could be something as simple as resizing was done before decrypting(disabling bitlocker) or something dumb like that
uhh i dont know, i use diskmgmt only for adding drive letters in windows since i dont trust it with anything else.
i used to use minitool partition manager (because they didnt just apply immediately and looked more similar to the linux tools i was used to) in windows back when i used windows more, idk if they are still good though
this assumption sounds reasonable
I got everything working , I used gparted after Bazitte installed. I used disc mgmt and it separated my 4tb to 2 tb in shrink options and then automatic partition work when installing Bazitte , then after installation , I used gparted to shrink Bazitte and give back 1tb to my c drive , I had to shrink and move stuff around in gparted
@HikariKnight was a huge help to this , appreciate it
