Yeah but you need to find the ans in terms of M and m

Answer T dia hai par aana 4T chahiye , am I wrong or the book T is the tension in string here due to m To fir plus hote hote man ke upar wali string mein 4T tension aa jayegi

ig they would have taken it the other way around, taking T for the first string, then T/2, then T/4 instead of 4T, 2T ,T

This is the soln given , so idts it's t t/2 t/4

@Gyro Gearloose any inputs?

Its t+2t+4t I think? Ig the equations would be: T-Mg=7Ma (Man) Assuming platform is massless, acceleration of platform=acceleration of mass*(1/3) or something (Using string constraint)?

U will take 4T for man tho, if it is T for man then it would be t t/2 t/4 Even I am getting 4T, if u consider T , t/2 t/4 total thing will change so it won’t be 7T but same ans ig
SirLancelotDuLac
True.

is it possible that plank is exerting 3T?
stormycloud
stormycloud6mo ago
Total 7T , 4T from man and 3T from plank

hardcoreisdeadOP6mo ago
my bad , all of the 6T by plank and T by man

O I thought u meant it like a fact sorry, but I don’t think so tho? When we draw fbd for plank it isn’t evident that 6T is by plank only Did u ask ur teacher mayb?

nah i couldnt

Correction: In my calculation of T that - 49 m^2 g gets cancelled

Hey I'll review it in a few and close the thread , thanx. Question from Ashish arora hey @Ishizora i sae your solution and i have done the same thing as well and obtained same values of T a and b , the main doubt here is what force is the man exerting, T,4T or 7t
Ishizora
Ishizora6mo ago
man being at rest wrt platform will only have to exert the force which is not balanced out just by the normal normal acting on the man is 3T which leaves T as the force to be applied in order for man to be at rest wrt platform
