Unable to launch the game after updating
So I haven't played Distant Horizon in a long time, upon launching the game today I got a prompt to update DH's version. So I did, and then it told me to restart the game. I did so and upon reentering the game I got this message

Also, iirc the auto updater updates to nightly builds?, so also reinstall newest DH version and disable auto installer

No, thats not possible anymore, as iris has disable that option since everything is easily accessible now

Install a fabric instance with the fabric installer, downlod the newest version of Iris and Distant Horizons
and put them into your

Since you come from the (now) super old era of experimental version, starting from scratch is viable.

I installed both Iris + Fabric through Iris installer tab
What profile you've selected before launching the game?

What's in your mods folder?
You're missing the Iris mod, somehow...
Assuming you did use the installer, it should appear in the mods folder.

Ah I initially had the installer file in the mods folder
but when I tried to launch the game, it says that the iris installer isn't a mod

Happens to the best of us I guessed.
Everybody assumed the installer is also a mod apparently, knowing the installer is modelled around Optifine installer. The only thing Optifine differs from Iris is that the installer also serves as a mod for Forge.

The ones on Modrinth is the actual mod.
The installer just fetch the mod from the GitHub release page, which is the same as the one uploaded on Modrinth.
