Increased ping on all EU Servers
Hi my Ping on all EU servers got up by like 40ms each along with rubber banding and small packet loss. I used to get 15-20 ms on Frankfurt and London but now its not lower as 40ms. My ISP is Vodafone but they told me already nothing has changed on their end

Yo @Tim Are you playing from Germany? I currently see 23ms average on Vodafone Germany towards Frankfurt VAL servers. Can you please DM me a traceroute towards
162.249.72.0
π«‘
do i also post this in here or just the DM ?
any updates on this case ? π
hey @Tim this doesnt look like a routing issue to me, the average is
23ms
still and we are directly connected to Vodafone Germany in Frankfurt, this means the connection have no additional "hops" between your ISP and our servers. I checked your trace and its finishing at 22ms
average which is nearly the same as to our Val. gamepods. if you see spikes to 40ms Id check your own network first, you can run a continues ping towards our anycast IP 162.249.72.0
to reveal whats causing it, maybe wifi connection ?Ok i will check that appreciate the support π«‘
i checked everything and nothing seems to help π even did a full pc reset. I looked up in the german valorant dc and many ppl are experiencing this issue since the 8.07 update like 3 months ago, when their ping went up just like mine did :peeporope:
Its not just a DE thing tho, i think like everyone is getting higher latency then a few months ago.
You can basicly even see it in forums last 4 months the latency issues skyrocketed in here
But gotta appreciate those guys for actually getting in touch through here. as long as we are not pushing over 45 im okay with it tbh from now on

kenji i have a question how many hops does a connection to val generally have,
@lira :3 | #6 Alisha fan depends on your ISP and their connection towards our Riot Direct network. if they have a peering point with us its a next hop or very close to our gamepods connectivity.
yee but is there like a normal average? mine is 13
(it works fine I'm just curious)
@lira :3 | #6 Alisha fan there is no average Lira, it all depends on how your ISP doing their routing, your own home network hops etc etc.
ah I see
our side is pretty strait forward, we operate latency sensitive network and tend to hand over packets to the shortest and best route towards ISPs. This ensures best gaming experience for our players π
comparing it to transit or internet providers where majority dont care what happens with the traffic if its short or long way around, they just want to pass traffic from A to B point, they have no obligations unless hundreds of people start to complain about stuff :val_KekwSob:
well what do you do if the isp just doesn't care about what you have to say
well, we do what we can to minimize negative player experience, also sometimes we ask players to raise is with their ISP if they ignore us.
