should shrunken denim be avoided?
Hey,
I found a listing for a pair of vintage denim in my waist size but then I look at the actual tag in the pics and it's a 32 so they're listing it as a 29 because it shrunk.
What sort of pitfalls are there to this fit wise? My initial reaction is to avoid these.
Thank you

Do the rest of the measurements work for you? do you like them?
Yeah they do except the inseam which needs a hem
I was excited until I saw the original tag
I don't think it's a big deal, cotton will shrink when it's washed and stretch back out a bit with wear. Think how many times a pair of vintage jeans have been washed and there's gonna be shrinkage
Levi's sells Shrink To Fit brand new. Idt there's any reason to be wary of them based on tag size and actual size discrepancies
Is there a risk that they will stretch back towards their original waist size?
I'd say it's unlikely, the waistband will only stretch with stress applied to it from your waist. So if you don't have a 32 waist you wouldn't stretch them back to 32. Does that make sense?
every vintage levi's i've bought is like this. tagged size is usually 2"+ bigger than waist size if you're buying older pairs that've been beat up and washed
it won't stretch back enough to affect the fit and you can always just belt it.
Yes thank you for the help all of you!

Does this listing look alright otherwise btw? Are there any potential fit issues with front/back rise?
Says the rise is 14 in
Idk 14 in seems v high? I double-checked with the seller that that's the front rise
It is pretty high, yeah. Especially for that tagged size. I don’t know a lot about the jeans but the price feels high too.
I mean i'd probably offer $25 plus $6 shipping which sounds right?
The rise is odd. I'm going to ask them for the back rise. Wouldn't a too high back rise be bad?
I'm not sure what makes sense for a sz 29
Idk a ton about it but I think as long as the back rise isn’t way higher it should be OK
Cool thank you
