SignalK server on Windows

Hi, I am running a signalK server on Windows 11. Now I am trying to use the data logger plugin to log my data. But I cannot get it to work. The signalK log say that file sk-delta-log.2024-07-22T11:38:34.052Z.log does not exists. Which is true. I don't think that : are allowed in filenames in Windows and reported a issue in github. I'll wait and see if Mairas is still active. Is there an alternative for the data logger? (Other than logging the NMEA0183 data comming from port 10110) Are there requirements for plugins, like running on all OS, that are published, or tested on? If not, maybe we could use tags to mark on what OSes a plugin runs. Anyway. There are quite a few plugins that do not wotk on Windows OS.

You can activate dta logging for each connection. It logs raw data prior to conversion to sk. The data is timestamped There are no requirements, each plugin author works on their own There are subtle differences like allowed filenames in different operating systems that are easy to trip on. Catching them would mean either testing or full awareness or both - a pretty high hurdle Which means that tagging plugins for OSs would probably not work. Like if I use myself as an example: I don’t use windows and have no easy access to windows systems, so can’t vouch for them on windows, unless I spend a lot more effort
