they just send a packet where they start breaking specific blocks
and in turn the server returns the location of actual ores
are you not just using the built in paper anti xray?
Paper anti xray should take care of it?
Maybe the player is trolling if you have enabled the anti xray from the config?

was also gonna throw that in there
incredibly effective (probably the best there is) but quite cpu heavy
its just the built in one
but im guessing there should be a plugin that just prevents exploits like these

from a scale from 1-10 how cpu intensive is it

Depending on the number of players and config settings, this plugin can be resource intensive. I only recommend using it if you have "unused" CPU threads available on your server in order to minimize the impact on the main thread.

you need an anticheat to fix it basically
