Which Fabric mods and plugins to use for performance

Sorry if any of these sound dumb, I'm new to this. I'm thinking of getting a host here in my country to play with some friend (probably between 5 and 7), and I want to know of any Fabric mods and plugins that I could install on the server to get a better performance. I thought about installing Paper on it but idk if it's compatible with Fabric. I want to use the Skins Restorer plugin and either the EasyWhitelist plugin or the EasyAuth mod (if both of them can be used at the same time would be better, but I don't know if that would work). Any insight is appreciated Just coppied my post from reddit

@pedrogmix what's your focus here You either get fabric to get many content mods OR to avoid modify too much the vanilla base game (both ways are optimized) OR get paper to have an optimized vanilla like experience with the power of plugins

Just vanilla with some friends, prob max 5 or 6 players on simultaneously I thought about paper but idk if it changes a lot about how the game works

Yes, paper’s patches sacrifice several parts of vanilla functionality for performance For friends, fabric with performance mods is fine

Maybe these would be fine? Fabric API EasyWhitelist EasyAuth FerriteCore Chunky SkinRestorer Krypton Connectivity I didn't add Lithium because we are already using it client side And also didn't add Leaky because right now I can only install 8 mods, but in the future I'll try to add it

That does not matter. If you only have it on the client, it only improves stuff on the client side You need it on the server and client It’s just not how it works If you have FerriteCore on your client, it’s not going to magically reduce ram usage on your server too same goes for lithium and every mod Lithium is single-handedly the most essential mod to be on a client + server it is arguably the best fabric performance mod there is

Oh I think I misunderstood what was said in the Lithium description then, my bad Fabric API EasyWhitelist EasyAuth FerriteCore Chunky SkinRestorer Krypton Connectivity Lithium Leaky

Alright then, I'll try to install then tonight Also one more thing, I'll prob set the chunky area to 5000 5000 or 10000 10000, will distant horizons work with it?

Yeah, chunky radius 5000 or 10000 will do (set a worldborder). But on a server it’s not how distant horizons works. Distant horizons will only display the chunks that you have explored yourself on a server

Oh ok, atleast there will be less lag when loading chunks I think that was all, if I have any trouble I'll make another post Thanks for the help man! !solved
