Chunks not loading
Can't get chunks to load, tectonic mod, iris, sodium, fabric, indium. Minecraft has 20gb of ram. 5900x rtx3090

20 gb of ram is way too much, you need 6 to 8
also chunks are loading but slowly
Oh roger, yeah some of them just popped in
what do you have for a CPU, how many threads does it have?
I see ram usage shooting to up to 8
download the following:
Nosium
Lithium
FerriteCore
of CPU Cores: 12.
of Threads: 24.
Max Boost Clock: Up to 4.8GHz.
Base Clock: 3.7GHz.
Default TDP / TDP: 105W.
those are mods that will help a lot
24 threads
got it
one second
Roger, are those for performance?
Yes
they speed things up quite a bit
looking good
I'll download all those you listed now
World generator threads = 24,
World gen percentage = 0.6
File handler threads = 12,
File handler percentage = 0.4
Update propagator threads = 12,
Propagator percentage = 0.6
LOD builder thread = 24,
Builder percentage = 0.5
put these values into the threading settings in the Distant Horizons config
this will speed up LOD loading a LOT
and also reduce lag
Roger, where do I input this?
Go into the distant horizons config, into the advanced settings, and into threading
Done, added all those mods and adjusted values
getting 80 to 140 frames flying up in the air looking around
how's it working?
Not bad
World loaded instantly
The clouds have this weird fringe flicker
on bliss shaders
also my gpu is pushing pretty hard to 90C at hot spot but that's my airflow issue
yeah Bliss has noise artifacts, turn up the TAA
or rather, turn down the blend factor and it will smooth things
PC just hard rebooted
Hmm
Weird
looking for blend factor option
what's that?
I've never heard of that
this
haha
OOOh
my bad
go to Bliss shader settings, post processing, antialiasing
the farther you turn down the blend factor the more frame history is used
you can also turn on screenshot mode which basically does a long exposure photo: turn it on, frame your shot, turn off the UI with F1, wait until the noise subsides, take a shot
you'll get very clean screenshots that way
Roger
It's more for video recording use so
I think bliss is just cooked on shadow flicker nothing seems to work
i'll try an alternative real quick
what would you recommend?
also thanks a lot for all the help, I really appreciate your time 🙂
Hard rebooted again, I was monitoring temps too, so not a temps reboot
So weird
Maybe it's the shaders
shadow filtering see if you can find that setting
it's very noisy, I recommend using Complementary
Bliss is great if you're doing screenshots but sucks for everything else 🤣
Photon is the next best shader
Complementary or photon for cinematic playtrough footage?
in your opinion
Both are fine because they have little in the way of artifacts
gotcha
