Sudden issue of bare trees and cave-shaped holes in LODs
I just downgraded DH as per #Can I physically offset my DH data (up)? (voiced vid attached), but this has apparently been happening since before that forum post as shown by the video. what's going on?

The weird thing is that the holes have such weird shapes
And are not on the chunk grid
I don't see much wrong in logs, so it might just be an incompatibility somewhere
Something like that could be it yea, because now that you mention it, those holes do look like hoe caves generate
i turned cave culling off
made no diff
doesnt reaaally explain the trees tho

its most strange to me that this is an issue with specifically caves
i.e they are being carved completely separately from the world

I don't see the usual suspects of leaves not rendering, dynamic trees and passable leaves. Do you have another mod that makes leaves not have a hotbox?

its def that dh just wasnt made to work with mods that extend world height below the "bottom" like this
so i was just trying to find whatever feature specifically disables this breed of cave culling
(doesn't exist apparently)
There is no cave culling like feature for leaves, if that is what you mean

Ah I see, cave culling shouldn't affect cave generation anyway
So that shouldn't be the problem
