this isn't an answer to your question, but I'd recommend using ctrl+p over selecting files with the mouse. You can type parts of the name of a file and switch to it if it's open, rather than have to go find it in the tab list

i think alt + tab alao switches between diff opened files
not sure , but try
ctrl+tab or ctrl+pgup/pgdn
alt-tab switches between open programs in windows
ctrl-tab and ctrl-shift-tab are very useful for any program with tabs
