Gold-colored chain, good look or bad?
Been wearing a gold chain/necklace thing recently and liking the extra interest it adds to whatever I'm wearing. But I've seen some mixed messages about guys wearing chains/necklaces online, places like r/askwomen and r/askmen. Some of the threads weren't that old and the vibe I was getting from most of the comments was that chains weren't a good look. Like, at all??
BUT when I look for inspo from celeb guys that I think are really well dressed, there's necklaces right and left. Tom Holland, Alex Turner, etc etc. So what gives?
Anyway: is mine alright? Does it look good the way I'm wearing it or is there something I could be doing better, even if that's just leaving it off?
Very interested in hearing your guys' opinions 😁 Thanks

I wouldn't pay any attention to what people on reddit are saying. If you like it and like what it adds to your outfits then that's all that matters really
but to add plenty of people who post here wear chains and other items of jewellery regularly
Chain looks good, redditors have 0 swag literally don't listen to them
For fashion nerds like us jewelry for men is normal and accepted. Outside of communities like this it's become more mainstream in the last 5-ish years and you'll get somewhat divisive opinions from everyday people. If you push people on this their opinions often are influenced by homophobia and sexism or by racism so I don't give that backlash much stock.
I won't pretend like it doesn't matter how you're perceived so consider your audience. If you think most people around you will be put off by jewelry it's fine to stop wearing it or wear it less often if you think it'll cause problems for you. I for example wouln't wear it in a job interview or to a funeral. But you don't need to stop wearing it just because you saw someone online complain.
Good balanced perspective, that. Thanks!
good point, thanks for helping me touch grass 🙃
chains rock !
