PlotSquared V7 from source

Hi all,
Is it allowed to use PlotSquared V7 (compiled from source) to build up a server without having bought it on SpigotMC? I am only talking about the first time, because I'm in a quite tricky private situation and it may take a few months until I'm able to buy PlotSquared. BUT I want to buy it as soon as possible. The question is, if I'm allowed to use the self compiled version on the server later on.

Thank you all for helping! I hate piracy and I am not planning to do it (like running the server for years without buying it on SpigotMC...).

I am not asking about piracy. I am just talking about starting with the source version without buying it and then buying it as soon as possible, but continuing using the set up source version.

yes its ok! you just cant compile it for people, you cant sell it, or sell a server package with it. You're free to build it yourself and use it on your own server

So its not against license to use the source version for a (commercial) server in general? (I would still pay for it as it deserves it)

yeah thats totally fine, but if ur making money while using their resource i would always recommend supporting the people that help make u that money (by buying the plugin). Think of it like tipping culture in the states. You don't have to tip. There is no requirement to tip. But it's recommended to tip and people might think less of u if u don't!

Also btw, they have a discord. Makes a lot more sense to ask the plotsquared peeps directly instead of some randoms in admincraft

As mentioned in my message I wrote 2 minutes ago I would support them in any way (when using it for a longer time with a lot more than only the price of the plugin!).

I was actually just talking about the start of my work on the server and the general continuation of the source when the server goes public. Currently the server setup is running locally on my pc and I will pay them much more as the price of the plugin as soon as possible but I'm currently not able to because of a really special private family situation.

No worries, the plugin is available for free for reasons! There is inherently nothing wrong with not contributing, especially if you're not able to
