Guidance on an arm tattoo
Hey everyone!
Been thinking of getting a tattoo for years and have a certain tattoo I want. I’m a huge LotR and swimmer, having spent my childhood along the beach. The tattoo is Elvish for “The sea calls us home”
I want it on my left arm under my shoulder which leads to this question: what are your thoughts on a tattoo that draws attention to shoulders when one doesn’t have much definition? My arms aren’t super ripped.
Also, would you suggest the inscription goes all the way around the arm or only on the outside portion (halfway) so it’s all visible. I’m leaning towards the latter but would love to hear your opinions.
Thanks, my bros.
PS: while at it, anything I should keep in mind regarding not making a permanent faux pas or in general with tats?

Look, im not a workout guy
but from my perspective your shoulder/upper arm is fine
it doesn't matter
there is nothing to be ashamed of/to distract from
now more than ever is a great time to be a skinny dude with arm tattoos
we are gentrifying ribbed tanks too
cute cat tat!
I guess I just feel a little self conscious 😅
I mean if you feel that way get some non permanent tat and walk around with it for a few weeks
you will propably get used to it super quickly
And would you say it should stay on the outside. And actually, good point
also if it's high enough up your arm it'll be covered most of the time anyway
That’s the other reason. It would sit right below my shoulder to keep it work friendly
Nobody cares how muscular you are or aren't. They'll just see a tattoo on an arm. Don't overthink it.
Your delt is kind of prime real estate, so getting a line of text right in the middle would prevent you from filling that area out with something larger. But if it's meaningful for you then I think it's a good choice. In terms of pain the outside of your upper arm will be a lot better than the inside near your pit if that makes a difference to you.
