Multiverse Nether Issues

Hey folks, I've started a new server and have tried to get several things up and running. I have Multiverse (incl. inventories) and I want my main survival world to be able to keep their inventory traveling to and from the nether. However the inventory resets when entering the nether and the nether also doesn't allow default group to "create a nether portal" on the exit. How can I have inventories be kept throughout my survival world, nether, and end as well as allow the default group to actually use these portals? I've tried a couple different fixes but nothing seems to be working.

If possible, don’t use MultiVerse use something better like MyWorlds multiverse is very hard to migrate from due to how they store their inventories

okay noted. is there a way to transition the plugins without completely erasing the worlds i have right now?

Just want to check with you, as long as multiverse inventories is not used it's fine, right? I have a multiverse setup with Multiverse and Multiverse Portals

The only thing you will not be able to transition is your portals BUT MyWorlds handles portals in a much, much smarter way

I really hate Multiverse portals ngl Terribly unintuitive and no tab fill

as long as your world name is the same, it will link them up properly. For example, world is linked to world_nether and world_the_end. Test is linked to test_nether and test_the_end, etc.

Just worried about the transition

Make a backup first and just run the import command

Oh?

the only thing you will lose is your portals (which are unneeded) and your multiverse configuration, which upon imported becomes a MyWorlds configuration
/mw import <world name>
/mw import <world name>
iirc Multiverse badddd

So 1. Add Myworlds into server while server is off 2. Start server, run /mw import <world name> for all worlds required 3. Stop server, remove multiverse and multiverse portals Correct?

You forgot step 0 MAKE A BACKUP

Right

and make sure your worlds that are intended to be linked have the same base name, like world and world_nether

Interesting, I have XenoworldReset and it handles linking, I wonder how MyWorlds would work with it
Torrent
Torrent7mo ago
the way MyWorlds handles it is that simply adding _nether or _the_end while running /mw create will make it create a nether or end world linked to the base name

It apparantly has MyWorlds compatibility Currently for my survival server I have survival survival_nether survival_the_end resource resource_nether resource_the_end And world

MyWorlds is compatible with a lot of plugins related to world management and generators you should be good then! as long as you haven't done anything too fancy with the config file because myworlds will completely overrite it

I don't think i've ever touched multiverse config I just do /mv import

yea time to abandon that plugin for good. shouldn't be too difficult i had the same realization when creating plotsquared worlds. "This is the least intuitive and most unstable plugin ever. Why the fuck do so many people use it?"

This command doesn't seem to exist, and it seems it automatically imports the worlds

ok upon researching it seems I was a bit outdated in my thinking.
There used to be some mechanism for importing but aside from basic stuff, there isn't, really. You will have to set up the following things using myworlds again for existing multiverse worlds:

Loading worlds
Make sure to load the worlds again using MyWorlds. You can also opt to load both MyWorlds and Multiverse plugins at the same time. Then MyWorlds will pick up when Multiverse loads up new worlds and take over configuration options like the chunk generator plugin used.

Saw that too, just uninstalled MV and restarting

/world load [worldname]
/world load [worldname]
Seems like it should automatically take over Sorry if that threw you off 😄
