I assumed that if i work with a camera cmos manufacturer, they might guide me and maybe i could sell it as a product in future

Well, I think the camera manufacturer will probably want to know your volumes before really guiding you. Otherwise I think they'll point you to a kit or to one of their partners with an off the shelf solution, which is probably the way I'd go depending what you're trying to build/accomplish?
