Encoder Overload while using Aitum Vertical
I have been trying to track down what was causing my OBS to randomly get an encoder overload error when streaming/recording and after re-installing OBS, recreating my scenes and profile it looks like when I have anything added to the Vertical canvas I get this error. I previously was using a 3060TI but upgraded to a 4070TI Super and still have the same issue. Its pretty random but usually happens after about an hour, happens while just streaming and vertical recording as well as streaming, main canvas recording and vertical recording. Happens with OBS in regular and admin mode.
Here are a couple old logs from pre-GPU upgrade as well as a youtube video time stamped to when the issue happens

Also here is the logs from a session that wasn't using vertical at all and didn't have any issues

Here is one with the new GPU that still triggered the overload

GG @GleasonRyan, you just advanced to level 1 !
Sounds like you need to lower your nvenc preset
ive gone as low as medium in previous tests, which I feel SHOULD be enough, but when im done with this current test Ill run another with fastest just to check
i mean, encoder lag - especially gpu encoders that do no other work - is as cut and dry as it gets. if you're unable to maintain steady encoder performance, your settings are too intense
you're now encoding 2 different streams w/ vertical so it's a lot more work
is recording vertical more intesne than source recording on top of streaming and recording main canvas? I had done another test with no vertical while streaming and recording main canvas and source recording three of my sources without any overloading
Even on the lowest preset for recording it happened around the hour mark. It consistently happens around that hour mark, it can happen before but it usually always happens around an hour, thats the only real consistent ive found

well according to this log it was only 300 frames, which in the grand scheme of your stream is not anything to worry about
although I see you ended it right when the lag kicked up
HMMMM
Not sure
Worth posting in the Aitum support Discord instead
the consistently at 1-hour mark + being on P1 is a concern
but couldn't tell you what caused it
Yeah ive posted there, but they're out for twitchcon so was just bouncing off others here. I know its not a lot of skipped/missed frames but its super noticeable on stream/recording and its just odd the encoder sits at well under peak the whole time, then it spikes and causes this issue. Gonna try maybe going to an older version and run some more tests
I don't know if this helps, but I notice your log is mentioning issues with Killer NIC

OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is free and open source software for video recording and live streaming. Stream to Twitch, YouTube and many other providers or record your own videos with high quality H264 / AAC encoding.
My understanding is that's typically going to cause issues for network stability though, so it might be unrelated....
Ive went in and unisntalled and and just installed with the hardware drivers like it mentions but for some reason it keeps showing up. I do think it would just impact over the network stuff though like you mentioned
You might have to disable it from Windows Services
But yeah, I'll back out and just watch this convo, I'm really curious what's going on!
Think I finally got Killer gone and ran a test, nothing for 58 minutes thought it was all good and then boom :dead_inside:
Just curious, does it help if you disable the vertical preview?
@GleasonRyan
It doesnt, ive tried disabling both previews and no luck
