Chunks do not generate at all or at extreme snail pace, mod is otherwise completely broken for me.

increase the max memory allocation to 4096 + (worldgen thread count * 512) mb
/slowgen
If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)this too
Ok thanks. I figured out the wireframe debug stuff to take a look at if the mod was generating at all (first screenshot) and while it seems to be always generating chunks, theyre never actually being rendered
Will do that right now
This is what I'm getting
seems to be working but really slowly
try the aggressive cpu load preset
and then leave it for a few minutes
This is I Paid For The Whole CPU
Those chunks off in the distance are not being rendered after the wireframe for them is done
what happens when you rejoin
It generated a bit more
But it isnt progressing anymore
Once again wireframes are way out in the distance generating chunks that arent ever appearing
i've been seeing this on cpus with both p and e cores recently. try reducing the cpu load to minimum impact and rejoining. this is a sanity check
If you have your cpu load at I paid for the whole cpu you can try agressive
tried aggressive already
no luck
Oh darn
i think the performance cores are doing the world gen while the efficiency cores are doing lighting and lod building and can't keep up
i'm seeing a big correlation of this happening often on these kinds of cpus
Oops don't know why that screenshot had both my monitors
But yeah rejoining with it on Aggressive and the quality on Minimum has the same issue
Is there anything I can do?
cpu load minimum, not quality preset
you can put the quality back to medium
This is Minimum cpu load
If it really is just some incompatibility with my CPU then oh well
