what should I get? beginner!
hello, I'm a total beginner to this. here's my current wardrobe. what should I buy? are there some timeless pieces I should 100% get? what questions should I ask myself to know what style I want to build? please advise

Honestly hard to say with flat-lays let alone graphics of clothes. That being said I’ve never in my life needed black oxfords
Some early steps might be bringing in more color variety -- start simple with browns & dark greens. But as was said, particular advice requires posting fits
My main advice is to not buy much/anything and just try to be purposeful with your outfits before spending a lot of money
Your tastes will change quickly so don’t stick to stuff that other folks say is “timeless” or “essential”

basic doesn't inherently mean 'bad'
one thing you can do to improve is to take stock - are there occasions where you don't think you're adequately covered (work, casual, working out, weddings or funerals, etc)?
once you know what you need you'll be less likely to waste money on things you won't wear and have an idea of what to look for in terms of inspiration
You seem to have a lot of black/charcoal stuff going on with your wardrobe. Do you have a moodboard/inspo?
a very winter toned wardrobe , so i say get 1 top and 1 bottom that is warmed toned preferably from the autumn mute palette since itd work well w the existing winter colors
