Fake overview water LODs rendering in current chunks
Whenever I'm underwater it looks like the LODs for my current chunk are rendered over the fog, when that probably shouldn't be happening.
I wasn't able to find anything like this searching "water" on the issues page or in this Discord.
Is this a known issue, or some setting I'm missing?

Isolated Distant Horizons, and the issue still occurs
Also just realized that this is what it looks like when I look straight down at water
Renamed cause I noticed this little chunk actually doing what I'd expect it to, while the rest are still using a sort of bird-eye view LOD
/fill
ed a large area underwater and waited for the LODs to update, to make sure it'd happen in that case too, and indeed it does.
The LOD plane seems to be at Y 40.
Think this might be enough info to file an actual bug report. This could be a cave culling issue. Can you try disabling it?
Thank you, that seems to have been the culprit!
Underwater rendering is still a bit scuffed, but I can see the blocks in my current chunk correctly now
Yea idk about that sorry. Maybe one of your other mods is removing the fog or smth. You could try with just DH to see if the issue still occurs
Enabling fog helps mask it quite a bit, thanks for the suggestion
This is pure Distant Horizons btw, no other mods
I just had disabled fog previously
Huh, alright. I don't think there is much else you can do
No problem, it looks good enough with what you recommended
I have a similar thing with LOD chunks when I am underwater -- is there a way to just disable LOD rendering when underwater? When I am underwater I never feel I need to see that far anyway
Iirc disabling fog in dh's settings will for some reason stop Lod's from rendering when in water
Good to know, thanks -- it seems like when I enable shaders (complementary), actually, the effect is "fixed" for lack of better word. So for now I'll see about doing that
