First time download

I tried downloading Iris for the first time ever an is getting an error regarding the shaderpack, please help. The error: deferred.fsh: deferred.fsh: 0(57) : error C7537: OpenGL does not allow 'sample' after a type specifier 0(57) : error C0000: syntax error, unexpected '=', expecting ';' or '(' at token "=" 0(58) : error C0000: syntax error, unexpected ',', expecting "::" at token "," 0(59) : error C0000: syntax error, unexpected '-', expecting "::" at token "-"

I just installed it and this was in here. Is this supposed to be here by default or perhaps something really old? I haven't played Minecraft in over 3 years so that might be it.
