Brand Spotlight: Corridor - Topic of the day 6/20/24
"Art as clothing. Corridor is a Brooklyn based, independent brand inspired by color, nature, music, spirituality and New York life. As a community of artists, our goal is to create transcendent, lovingly made clothing as spiritual expressions with universal meanings. We design our textiles and garments in-house and partner with ethical and environmentally sustainable workshops that specialize in the best quality weaving, knitting and sewing. Corridor's designer, Dan Snyder, founded the company in 2013 and weaves his love in every piece."

Not much to say but I own a flannel of theirs that's pretty nice quality. Quality construction, nice MOP buttons. Most of their stuff seems pretty easy to style.
Decent clothes, horrible cuts
Everything they make just has some detail that makes it 10x worse than it should be
Which is super disappointing cause it feels like they are consistently on the cusp of greatness
Their knits are nice though
got examples?
Ive had their rainbow weave shirt which seemed like a cool fabric, but the flaw was that it got super dingy looking fast.
Aside from the more interesting fabrics, alot looks pretty standard tbh
the cuts, the collars
(havent looked at cuts)
got a wool jacket from them, it is a foot shorter than it should be
got a shirt from them, its just weirdly cut, its not slim, its not wide, its just bad
their collars are often bad
anyway i went through a big corridor fan phase early in my fashion journey but they don't appeal to me whatsoever any more

Dan Snyder left a career in intelligence to create Corridor, an urban sportswear label that he sees as America’s answer to A.P.C.
sometimes corridor makes me feel like im scrolling through a IG dropship brand and then sometiems they have some cool stuff
it's the combination of completely unremarkable items mixed in with some real extra shit like rainbow mohawk cardigans that gives me whiplash
definitely a brand where i don't really get what they're trying to do
dan also spends all his time in wholesale acting like a 2000s hipster who discovered shrooms and wants to talk about how his third eye is opened to buyers. Heard stories about how he tries to invite people to afterparties to drop dmt. The brand matches that act -- artificial and mostly soulless items trapped in 2010s fits.
will give credit that they've done a good job establishing a brand identity in fabrics -- you can usually pick a corridor garm out from fabric alone.
nice to see he's a fed, so i can be like no i'm a hater for principled political reasons
Actual proportions corridor uses
They look good in store but bad on body
"America's answer to APC" is hilarious
Anyway glad he's a fed, his shit is way too small for me so my hate is now twofold
this is such a specific criticism, I love it
I’ve tried wearing corridor stuff a few times now and resold it every time. Their camp collars are probably the closest to something I’d want to wear? I think I enjoy the sort of loose weave, dimensional texture on their acid plaid flannels but literally every time I reached for one I’d take it off before leaving the house and put on an old five brothers or something
So idk what that says about whether I actually enjoy it
Corridor is American Percival is British Corridor is clothing for low rent panel show guests and I hate them both.
I loved the rainbow weave shirt but when I received it the sleeves were UNGODLY tight on my arms. I didn't even work out last year when I got that, it felt like a production error and I got refunded. I have been afraid to order anything since
don't know how to phrase this right but it's part of the universe of brands along with portuguese flannel, anonymous ism, etc. that exist to be sold to guys who aren't really into fashion but wander into mid to higher end menswear shops looking for "something interesting"
the toronto menswear store park & province is an example of this vibe
too real. kestin/la paz/oliver spencer/nn07 overlapping that feeling
haha yeah exactly
Wax London, Alex mill type beat
their going out shirt
This just rewired a neuron for me jesus
Agreed that their shirts just fit weird. I've tried different cuts across different seasons and nothing works for me.
However! I have a pair of linen cargo shorts I got from them recently that I just love. Wore them yesterday to the zoo. I can't find a pic but they look like this but more of a pistachio green.

Corridor Men's Linen Drawstring Cargo Short in Olive Corridor
Corridor was founded in 2013 by designer Dan Snyder, and has since made a name for itself for its contemporary and timeless wardrobe staples - just like these linen drawstring cargo shorts. Offering the perfect combination of preppy, downtown energy, they’re cut from a premium cotton-linen blend ...
Too many of their pieces are either (1) wacky or (2) great in idea but ruined in execution. But sometimes they get close to greatness.
Also I see their New York tote everywhere
Hey at least the Percival guy seems sound (and they have some nice bits)
damn selling all my corridor now
I like their chore coat, they used to have them in nice light linens, still one of my fav beach shirts
Percival ran a fake "investment round" to steal money off of people who don't understand finance so they're on my shit list.
Wait what happened there?
I have two corridor shirts and I call them my “going out” shirts and tell myself it’s ironic
Generally agree with the take about slightly off cuts / details. There’s just always something a bit wrong with them. It’s like they’re 80% of the way there on their better pieces
oh, welp
I have linen shorts from them with a really cool print, they are weirdly slim though.
i have a corridor overshirt that i like, but their camp collars fit really tight and narrow imo. I much prefer Portuguese Flannel for a similarly priced camp collars
Feds can be ok but he’s a spook specifically
Corridor shirts have trended slimmer than expected ime, but a lot of their stuff is really cool
