milsurp serge wool weight
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience with vintage US milsurp serge wool pants? I'd like to have an idea of the weight of the fabric and how scratchy it is. Specifically looking into pairs made by watauga apparel corp. as I quite like my tropical polywool (pair I'm looking at is entirely wool however) milsurp trousers made by them and would like a winter pair.

I have no experience with us serge wool, but I have a pair of 1940s australian naval pants from wool serge.
Its pretty thick and hefty feeling serge
moderately scratchy
my pants are super wide so the leg contact is limited
otherwise i would propably have an issue with them
But in general i have low sensitivity when it comes to itchyness
It's thick. Mines not scratchy tho
Thank you, yeah I have winter weight milsurp in grey but it's intolerably itchy
