Simple voice chat problem
I have been trying to setup simple voice chat for over an hour but cant get it to work it keeps showing that plug icon and /voicechat test [player] says client not connected.
I use freemcserver.net and have set the port to 50500 which is between 50000-51000 as said in this wiki: https://modrepo.de/minecraft/voicechat/wiki/server_hosting/freemcserver
And also set the plugin port(somehwere in the config of simple voice chat) to 50500 as well
It still shows the plug icon.
Server and client version is 1.20.6 and plugin and mod version 1.20.6-2.5.16.
Anyone can help?

have you also set a ip address to bind to
how do i do that
@Skullians
wait i found it
what am i supposed to put on the bind ip though
try
*
port=255
the port of your server
you must add these permissions to the groups
voicechat.groups
voicechat.listen
voicechat.speak
voice_host= leave empty
why the hell did you suggest port 255
yeah why port 255
I have given you an example 255xx
I don't know what port you are using on your server
they already know what port to use
seeing as the guide they linked tells them
what port are you using
50 smth
between 50000 and 51000
as said in the wiki of voice chat for the hosting i am using
πΈ
which port are you using to connect to the server?
on the plugin config i am using 50379
or do you mean the port after the ip
i assume they mean the vc port
yes that
is 50379
have you tried it out?
this
it's not recommended to have svc use the same port as the mc server
49848
use that port in the simplevoice chat configuration
but the guide says between 50xxx and 51000
1. what i am replying to
2. the guide says 50xxx and 51000 because i'm assuming that's what the free host has said you can use
you can try 49848
guess i will try
just try what I tell you, forget about the guide.
use the port after the IP
and restart your server
port should be like this right
?
or not
Did you set the firewall rules
how
Looks right
read their initial message
ignore dominic
ok
You said that Iβll ignore it
they're using a free host
Iβm what
No stupid
Local hosting != free
i am using freemcserver.net
^^^
Oh not me
Nvm
Right so
How many ports does they give you
If you only have one, then itβs out of the question
i think free version is one
although this has gotten incredibly confusing
Then you would be trying to no avail
oh
if you only have one port
your only options are to not use it, or use the same port (try 49848)
there is server port after the ip the port i mean is the 50xxx one that they give
and there is the one in vc server config
If he only gets one port, then youβd get no results no matter what
no
yes
you can use the same port as the server is ran on, it's just not recommended
SVC needs a dedicated port opened
teag
yeah
Well
oh
set it to
-1
l33t
works
Thatβs new
49848
ended up working
yep

π
no
svc uses udp
java uses TCP
the udp can be used by svc
java can use tcp
at the same time
thats interesting
