Experiences with Marrkt

Hey all! Does anyone have much experience with Marrkt for clothing? https://www.marrkt.com/collections/tops-shirts/products/rrl-chambray-shirt-5 There’s an RRL Chambray Workshirt in my size which has been on there a while, but I’m slightly thrown off by a) the price being lower than I expect, and b) the knowledge that brands like RRL have the potential to be targets for fakes. I may be completely off on the pricing, but when I see the original retail price, and see how much they tend to hold value on pre owned sales on eBay, it makes me second guess. Any experiences/info would be awesome!

Marrkt is definitely legit, I'd say close to zero chance of fakes on there! Prices are usually higher on there than eBay etc because they take quite a high % commission from the seller (nearly 40% iirc?), but you can definitely find bargains especially in the price drop sections for stuff that has sat for a while I guess that one has sat because of XS size I got a similar one on ebay for £40 recently so if you're patient (and quick on the search alerts) you can probably find cheaper, but that's def still a good price. And Marrkt has easy returns / refunds so it's safer than eBay in that regard, as well as them doing all the legit-checking for you All this to say: :doit:

Awesome, thank you - just wanted a bit of reassurance. And yeah, I suspect it being an XS probably factors into it. Will grab it!

Also bought stuff from Markt before. They're legit. Prices are OK for XS-S considering the sizes and you're looking at RRL tbh. Can get some bargins if you look at less minor hype / hype niche brands

Yeah you pay a little extra for their curation, but it's nice having loads of higher end stuff in one place to browse through! Their brand selection is veeeery MFA-coded too haha

great price considering it's usually sold on US marketplaces which then you'd pay taxes + higher shipping on

I've also brought from Marrkt, I'm slightly sceptical of how the grade condition and you can get better prices with patience but if they have something specific you want they're a good option.

It‘s like a better Vestiaire Collective! 40% commission? how do they convince people to let them sell their clothes? lol

I'd assume convenience and the small but targeted UK audience. Rather than using mass audience eBay or international audience Grailed which could include annoying shipping or taxes Ultimately enough people are willing to pay for convenience with these services v doing more themselves

Have also bought from Marrkt, one other thing they have in their favour is that they accept returns (albeit the process is very slow) to add to what Nay said, some people really don't want to deal with the effort of listing on ebay, vinted etc. With Marrkt they can just send everything they want to sell and not have to do anything

Completely understand that; but I’m still surprised considering that there are other ‘direct’ competitors like Vestiaire that offer better terms for a very targeted audience they do have a surprisingly large selection of curated items tbh it’s true that selling expensive items on vinted isn’t necessarily easy

vestaire appear to operate on a model similar to ebay or grailed?

true, I guess some of the other newcomers like sellpy are more similar to marrkt in the way they operate

I get you though, I would rather list things myself than take the hit of 40%. It is fun to browse marrkt by brand filter though and can help in seeing things by brands I wouldn't normally think of

think i would order from marrkt if it weren’t for the expensive shipping costs to the eu shipping to the eu costs the same as shipping to the us lol

For UK internal market it's good. For US / EU guy might as well look at domestic website marketplaces Also blame Brexit I guess etc
