LOD distance uses normal Render Distance instead of the distant horizons settings
Example shown in attached images.
Normal render distance 2 vs 32
Solution:Jump to solution
Inside your vanilla render distance normal chunks are rendered. In between your vanilla render distance and your DH render distance LODs are rendered

what do you mean? it seems to be working
Btw if anyone knows how to fix the graininess in the grass it would be highly appreciated (not related to DH, it happens without it as well)
disable noise in DH settings
Isn't the LOD supposed to be related to the DH settings instead of the vanilla ones?
What if I want further than 32 chunks?
It's working tho
I thought the vanilla render distance settings should be completely ignored with DH installed
What?
Dh only adds unto rendering
It doesn't replace it
blue circle is the lod chunks

Ah I see. So maximum LOD is still limited by the vanilla 32 chunks I suppose?
no
no, its limited by the number you set in DH's settings
Vanilla is like 2-32 or wtever mods u got
Then you got DH that adds its own independent chunks in LoDs which go from 32-high number
So if I want, let's say, to increase the render distance beyond the 32 chunks with no optimized LOD, could I do that?
No, DH doesn't change the vanilla render distance limits
Hmm
DH only adds Chunks with lower detail levels outside of vanilla chunks
ye with nvidium
no shaders tho
Alright, thanks. I can't even run it at 32 chunks anyway 😂
nvidium will disable itself when using shaders
i cant run at 8 chunks if i played fullscreen
What's your gpu
intel hd 5500
ram is bottlenecking it ngl
try reducing the res
so it can breathe
allocate only 6 gb of ram to Minecraft so the 2gb could be used by rhe gpu
its max 512
i play 720p at like windowed res
so its 620x350
free antialising
The only issue with this though is that fences are rendered as full blocks and it looks absolutely garbage in the map I am playing 💀
Dh is meant to be used for longer render distances and not actually focusing at the small details
windows uses like alot i cant spare 6 to mc i use 4 max and even then the launcher warns me to no go over half of my total system ram lol
If you want the fences to be fully detailed try voxy
voxy is an alternative to dh
Isn't updated much since it's literally one developer working on it
it's lower overhead tho
Meaning it can run on more systems
But might run worse than dh
Idk haven't tested
I know, I would just rather the fence gates not being rendered or blended instead of occupying so much space despite being such small blocks
I guess there's no good solution
voxy mod
Dh would probably need to be fully rewritten for there to be textured lods
needs open gl 4.6 (voxy) 💀
dang
Wait what device doesn't have opengl 4.6 anyway
Opengl hasn't updated since the dawn of time
i got 4.4
opengl 4.4
9yr old+ system
intel dropped support recently and acts like it doesnt exist
dang
also their drivers for it suck
lenovos which is my odm on this laptop performs wayy more stable and the drivers r from 2018
while intels latest is 2021
Ok thanks everybody
