Recently bought leather sneakers, are my laces short? WTD?

In order to be able to even tie them like this I have to pull the laces very tight, is this a size issue? I feel as though the length of the foot and width seem reasonable, granted I’ve yet to break them in. Thanks in advance!

Not sure if it’ll solve your issue, but it looks like you should tighten up the lacing quite a bit. If the size and fit are good, the lacing should be pretty tight to ensure you don’t get rubbing that leads to blisters or sore spots.

Agreed the lacing looks loose but you're saying that's tied very tight then the shoes might just fit small across the instep. Either way, you can get longer laces online.

Alright yeah I'll get a feel of it for a while and if need be just buy longer laces then. Was just a bit unsure as to if short laces was an indication of the shoe being a bad fit for my foot height or something, but it feels snug and kinda right so then it's all good I guess

https://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/lacingmethods.htm could always try a different lacing method. Or just buy longer laces as Salsa mentioned

This happened to my sneakers too because the shoes are tight when not breaking them in, over the time the shoes will becone looser and you will be able to tighten up the laces.
