small space left at the bottom for the img
If i set the height of the img to 100% the size becomes too big.
any other approach?

Sorry, but I'm not going to scan through your code. Best way is to make a minimal reproduceable example in codepen that showcases your issue (and you might even figure it out by reducing the complexity)
