Shaders only glitch
I tried searching but cannot find anyone with my issue. I have a texture glitch only when I have shaders on. For now this is only affecting my grass for all I know but I just created this world yesterday. Does anyone know of a fix. I have tried Bliss and BSL and they both have the same texture glitch but it does not appear when no shaders are on.

what version of iris do you use and do you use any other mods or texture packs?
oh and try this
Fix the visual doppler effect with DH
If your game has a visual "hall of mirrors" effect with Distant Horizons you may fix it by going to: Distant Horizons Config › Advanced › Graphics › Render Quality › Transparency = Complete

sorry wrong one
We are using 1.7.0+1.20.1 Iris. We are using mods here:

We are using the Realsource texture pack for Java.

Does iris work properly without texture pack?
Yes. It only happens when I have a shader on
ik it only happens with shaders on but does it happen with shaders on and texture pack off?
Just checked. The grass looks fine with shaders but no texture pack. The shader does look super bright though.
I am pretty sure that it is quite bright
well then the texture pack obviously deals with light in a contradicting way to iris so you probably can't run iris with that texture pack
He showcased a video using Iris with his pack though. I don't know why it looks different for me.

Weird reflectiveness eh?
What shader are you uing?
So far on this server I've tried BSL and Bliss.
Oh you're on a server
you need to explore the chunks yourself for them to load
on single player the distant generator will handle the pregeneration
Yes I created the server. I have explored the chunks. Just trying to figure out why my grass looks weird with shaders.
Oh grass does look kinda funny
Ok wait no I'm sorry
I just forgot what thread I was in
is it just me or is the grass texture being faded out for some reason?
You're not using Distant Horizons or you are using it? If you are then you might either have loaded it on Forge or something and caused that bug or you just have the wrong shader version
I'm more concerned about this purple and black block above my taller grass in this photo. I am not using Distant Horizons.
Oh THAT
missing texture thing
that happens a lot if you're using mods and somehow break the game
had that happen on the last days of humanity modpack several times
But with the same mods and no texture pack with shaders the game looks fine. I was hoping that their was a setting in shaders I could turn off to fix this
Ok so it's the texture pack doing this or does it happen without it too?
I've seen this before I think, someone reported this issue a while back
Texture pack looks fine until shaders are on
Oh
what shader are you using? Bliss?
I've tried BSL and Bliss.
Huh that's odd
if I recall correct distant horizons really really doesn't like texture packs
I am not using Distant Horizons.
Oh ok good to know then
You're using Iris 1.7.0 I think I read up the chat somewhere, what resource pack are you using?
Yep we are up to date with Iris. The texture pack is called RealSource
Alright, unfortunately I don't believe I have enough knowledge to help with this because it's got to do with a texture pack I've never messed with however what I guess I could do is just run it myself and see if I get the same issue
might be able to reproduce it
I appreciate you attempting the help though. Thank you! 🙂
I am kinda in the same situation as Piotr Barcz I do not really know how you could solve this but it may be a mod that is the problem then so you could try a binary search

The Thanos Method
What is The Thanos Method?
- The Thanos Method (more accurately known as a binary split) is a debugging technique used to find the mod or mods that are causing the issues you are experiencing.
How does it work?
- The Thanos Method is simple. To find the conflicting mods, split your mods folder into 2 groups. Remove one group, and test in-game. Keep the group that has the problem, and repeat until no more mods can be removed without the issue disappearing. Thanks to The Thanos Method, you can now enjoy an issue free modded Minecraft!

I'm not sure of thinking it's a mod since I kept all mods on and just removed the texture pack and it worked fine. I think it has something to do with how Iris reacts with certain shaders and texture packs at once. But some shaders don't show the glitch as much as others. So I'm thinking there is a setting within certain shaders to help. But who knows, definitely not me lol
hmm if it shows less with other shaders then just use other shaders
Less meaning thinner pink blotches but it's still pink everywhere i go with a bunch of grass. Currently trying out other mods. No fixes.
yea, well I am sorry I can't be of use but I will ping one of the support team and see if they could suggest a fix :sob_cursed:
@hardester
Hello yes? My brother invited me for a co-op session in Genshin Impact.
Anyways, since this issue has yet to be resolved, send a log file here.
Appreciate it. I think this is what you're looking for. https://mclo.gs/r3ngRLM

I am seeing a bunch of errors and warnings, but I don't think any of them relate to your issue.
Only thing I can think of from this log is the mod "Moonlight" is interfering with the rest of the graphical rendering process, one way or another.
For sanity check, does the same thing happen when trying with other shaders pack, say, (Astralex version 92.1)[https://modrinth.com/shader/astralex] ?
:harold:
Welp, embed fails.
Moonlight was required for the Supplementaries mods.
So far I have tried bliss, bsl and complimentary.
:Render_Thinking:
Feel like there has been multiple reports of Supplementaries mods causing graphical issues, but most of them are about Distant Horizons. Yours might be the first case for just Iris.
Yea. I don't understand why Supplementariesit's reacting this way. just tried taking off and Moonlight but it's still the same with shaders on. Maybe I just gotta live with the pink grass everywhere or no shaders.
Figured out how to get rid of it on all shaders. I turned off Waving Plants or Waving Grass (they are named different in different shader settings) and now I don't see that texture glitch.
For example:
BSL Settings - Animations - Grass OFF
Bliss Settings - World - Waving Stuff - Waving Plants: OFF
