1.16.5 DH + Oculus + Shaders(?)
I've been tinkering around with a fresh instance of MC with only "oculus-mc1.16.5-1.4.7-DH-support", "embeddium-0.3.18+mc1.16.5", "DistantHorizons-2.1.0-a-1.16.5" installed.
I'm also testing "BSL_v8.1.03" & "ComplementaryReimagined-r2.3-dh" which work, but with issues.
I understand the best compatibility is on 1.20.x but I've had a server stuck on 1.16.5 for years and can't quite update it yet.
On this site: https://gist.github.com/Steveplays28/52db568f297ded527da56dbe6deeec0e
It mentions an issue I'm having, LODs rendering far brighter than the surroundings, making it look off during the day and silly at night. That and some weird strings of blocks on top of the skybox.
The fix mentioned on the site doesn't seem to have any effect, and my thought process is if these mods/shaders are all made to have DH compatibility then surely I'm missing something obvious I can't seem to work out. I've been at it for about a day now and I didn't want to bother anyone until I really felt like I've tried everything.

Benefit is that any shader pack can work... Well, in the sense that they making use of this so-called partially working state.

Are you sure the oculus file is called "oculus-1.16.5-1.4.7-DH-support"? I don't think 1.16.5 has shader support on oculus
Pre-1.20 is effectively "all [REDACTED] break loose" sort of ordeal when it comes to shaders support on Distant Horizons.
You definitely won't get native shaders support, only things work partially if at all if you're lucky.

I had to download it from the github, it wasn't on curse. The most recent on curse was 1.4.8 I believe but it didn't have support for DH. Really at all.
The one you downloaded also doesn't have dh support
Alright, so from what I've gathered I'll have to wait until either the 1.16.5 experimental versions are updated more or try to update to 1.20.x. I've got 2/3 maybe of a massive continent explored in Terraforged on my server, and I've been holding off on updating versions until the whole continent has been loaded in to prevent chunk borders. I guess I'll spend some time mapping it out and see which mods I'll really miss. Appreciate the replies.
Np! Ill indeed go for the second option because I don't think a back port will ever happen
