Sodium 0.5.8 incompatible w/ indium 1.0.27(?) but will crash when installed???
I will post these pictures and then edit the writing as I try to describe what's going on

This is on version 1.20.1
I have Sodium 0.5.8
It says to install Indium, which I do, then crashes and results in this:
Says to replace sodium with indium (??? seems weird but ok)
Against all intuition, I remove Sodium 0.5.8 and leave Indium in there (Indium 1.0.2.7 for 1.20.1)
It then gives me this
Oh and that fastload thing is just something I tested, it says the same thing when removed
So, absolutely unsure of what's causing this
In-game With Sodium 0.5.8
are u sure u have the right version of indium?
there's a 1.0.30 version if u didn't know

I removed the 'Create' mod and it's now working without Indium, so I'm not sure what's going on there.
I'm going to be adding Indium 1.0.30 and then seeing what happens.
i hope it works
Pffff

š Okay so here's what I learned:
On MC 1.20.1
With Sodium 0.5.8
Without Indium
The Create mod will block the rendering API somehow, and will display an error message telling you to install Indium.
The shaders won't work.
If you remove the Create mod, it won't tell you to install Indium, but, then, the shaders work without Indium.
If you keep the Create mod, and also install Indium 1.0.30, the shaders work and there is no error message.
If you have this error, you have Indium 1.0.27 and you need 1.0.30
because indium has support for sodium 0.5.8 in that new update
the one u were using is old
Yeah, but that doesn't make any sense from the error message, because it's not giving me any clue as to what's causing the issue.
I don't see Indium being a requirement for the Create mod.
Apparently, it is, because without the Create mod, I don't need Indium to run the shaders.
The version mismatch was error on my part, but I only could guess that Create had smth to do with it.
well
atleast it works now right?

Thanks for the help. I was dead sure I had the right version of Indium.
still completely unclear as to why create needs indium to be compatible with iris.
no problem
indium helps with rendering api and they had to update their mod to support 0.5.8, create needs indium in order to play with both since create uses something I don't understand and i never tried it
well that's strange because i can run create just fine without indium
You only need Indium if you have Sodium installed.
however, without sodium, i can't run shaders.
so there's just something that is completely counter-intuitive about all this, and at this point, nobody can tell me it adds up perfectly
