LODs not showing up in singleplayer (haven't tested on multiplayr)
LODs aren't showing up due to some performance mods I installed, the problem is I literally don't know what performance mod is causing this, I'd also like some opinions on the performance mods I installed if possible

send the mod list and ill have a look
currently working on getting a screenshot of it
I've sent them but for some reason it just says "processing"
thats weird
I just had to reload discord
most of these mods shouldn't affect distant horisons
isnt methane that mod that just nukes the lighting engine?
yep
starlight is not needed in versions higher than 1.20
also yep
alright, if you want that...
I use shaders so like
who cares about the default lighting engine
sure lol
also kinda dumb of me to use a nuke and then apply a fix to a nuked part of the program
is
memoryleak-fix forge
not a forge mod?
oh well lolI'm pretty sure thats just because its forge and fabric compatible
ah alright
i dont like it when mods do that
i dont know the mod bedrodium well but it seems unnecessary to me. because the bottom of the bedrock isnt rendered anyway
it is actually
I would know
I've fallen through the world before and seen the bottom side of the bedrock when I was extra laggy
yes, thats how that works. if the block's side is facing the camera, it will render
more like, if it's possible that a blocks side is facing the camera, it will render
i dont see any other weird mods, although i dont know some of them
some of them are designed to modify terrain gen so maybe that caused some issues
are you using a compatible shader?
pretty much all the optimisation mods I installed were just what happens when you search for optimisation mods on modrinth for fabric that are opensource
iris BSL, nightly build of DH
back-face culling, is whats its called, and minecraft has it
I just assumed minecraft rendered all blocks exposed to air
within a rendered chunk
can you try with just DH + iris + dependencies to see if that fixes it?
nope
oh okay good
you can see it doesnt when you fly underground in spectator
I know that works
I know one of the performance mods is causing it
aah
you could try a /binary search
Try a binary search and figure out which mod is causing it.
So disable half of the mods, see if issue is still there, if yes disable half again etc etc until you find the mod that's causing the issue.
because i dont see any mods that are known to cause trouble
I don't really know how to disable mods without temporarily putting them in the recyclebin
do you have file extensions enabled?
?
whats that?
are mods called example-mod or example-mod.jar
it specifies the type of file, like .txt is a text file and .docx is a microsoft word file
no
what do you mean no
oh wait yeah
I thought it would be like
(example mod)example-mod.jar
not like, (example mod).jar
but yeah, all my mods are just that
so all mods say .jar behind it?
in that case, rename a mod to example-mod.jar.disabled to disable it
that or blank
blank? can you send a screenshot of what you mean?
@Puhpine (GMT +1)
oh right lol
I'm just gonna transfer them to an unrelated file
okay, so you have file extensions turned off
if you enable it under
view
, you can do this
but yea that also workssweet
I'm just gonna temporarily turn off shaders so it's easier to test
it was methane
Oof alright. Might have been messing with starlight or some other mod. Glad you figured it out
nah, removed starlight
it was just messing with the nightly build of DH
