Yes, since those virtual tables reside in memory and require read operations.
If you are on the free plan, you can’t be billed anything. If you are on the $5 paid plan, you will only be billed once you exceed 25 billion reads per month.

Thanks for the confirmation!
But what consequence will it have if I read more than the alloted 5M reads/day?
I'm currently optimizing my code and am well below 10M (from around 80M a week ago) using caches. I can afford the $5, but I'd like to understand (because I have other projects on other accounts which I'd like to keep on the free offering).
Your math is a bit off there. It's around 850 million a day.
I think they believe they are on the Free plan (in which 5M/day is the capped usage).
You can check your plan by going to the Workers > Plans tab in the dashboard. I would make sure you are deploying to the same account you think you are.
https://developers.cloudflare.com/d1/platform/pricing/ has all of the details.
Ah apologies, didn't realize that.
Yes, I am on the free plan (double checked), I've been using this account for a little more than two months. Metrics only go back seven days, so I can't say when I crossed the 5M/day threshold. But last week I did >280M reads - and that's after I started heavily optimizing the request. Before that it was more in the 600Mr/w range...
I would expect excess calls to be blocked or something. But nothing happened.
But it's probably safe to say I should switch to the paid plan ASAP 😁
