Harrington Inspo
I find it hard to get inspo on harrington jackets that are worn in more interesting takes such as heyday ivy or trad. Most of the pics I see online are posted 7-10 years ago (slim fit era). Please drop your thoughts (and pictures) regarding this classic jacket thankyou!!!

Dude definitely knows his fit is fire
One sec, I got to get google to show me what I want
while i suspect the first three are closer to what you had in mind, i find the short length of a harrington makes an interesting surrogate for a blazer
@!Crouty_3 dropped this banger of an inspo album on genchat:

from braindrops, himbilbibli, Pint Can, and weeg
Here are some of the fits that I loved
Love the fits! Specially the one with the tie. And no, I am actually looking for fits that are...smarter. I love wearing ties lol
Goddamn that looks nice!
also in the interesto f transparency the bandana fit was inspired by these fits from charlie https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1116800072093532191/1206994865338982400
while i don't think they're wearing a harrington in either it's easy to make the mental leap
@zeometer what do you think of the Harrington when compared to other blousons like A1s and A2s? Do you think that the harrington is a bit on the tamer side when compared to...say... a valstarino?
i would argue the slant pockets and the historical context of the harrington makes it a more interesting jacket
but it's largely one of personal preference
plenty of people like A1 bomber jackets (i am not one of the)
i own an A2 leather jacket but it's oversized so it's not really serving the same function as a harrington
When do you mostly use your harringtons? I typically use mine when I dont want to be seen as overdressed by my friends and family lol. It's quite literally a blazer substitute for me
Ignore the skinny pants in a few of these, unless that's your thing
I wear mine when it's chilly but not too chilly instead of a blazer/chore coat or sweater and sometimes to work with pushed up sleeves (probably not the most fashionable way to wear it), I work a semi-physical job.
There's even linen versions out there if you live in a hot climate, although the one I bought from uniqlo is pretty breathable and I like layering :P.
Oh trust me I do live in a hot climate, although I havent found one made in linen. I do love iterations in suede tho I guess that defeats the whole "keeping you dry" purpose
I wonder if Tintin fellow is on here,
he's the last one in the bottom right corner, always great inspo for countrywear and neck scarves.

He's a professional gardener so he wears a lot of rustic English style clothing.
He looks... Cool
I am beginning to think that a Harrington jacket isnt really a piece of clothing that has a cultural "message" like a double rider or a brass button navy blazer. More of a blank canvas really.
Yeah for I could agree with that.
The basic bastard
my harrington is the only jacket i have and i used to wear it with school uniform
i thought it looked pretty good with my shirt and tie
Looks good
Bumping this up with a message: Layer under your harringtons!!! (best done in suede)
