How do I make it load beyond my render distance?
/slowgen
If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)Also, use the nightly build in #links-n-downloads
Wait
2.1.0a???
You mean 2.0.1a right?
nope
Either a typo or a beta tester
Whaaaa
I originally wanted to use shaders so 2.1.0a is what I used
I've heard about it a couple times but what exactly does the nightly build do?
How do you have 2.1.0a
Oh wait is that the rc2 build
I think oculus is incompatible with the latest rc2 build
Oculus recently upgraded to be compatible though
2.0.4a is recommended for oculus
But I might be stupid
So it might just be slow world gen
I'll try that then
Ahh yeah thank you
It was just the uh
CPU not loading aggressively
btw sorry for disturbing but what is rc2 build and nightly build ðŸ˜
Rc2 build is short for release candidate 2 build
Basically distant horizons is in the process of soon getting officially released
And nightly build is the one in #links-n-downloads
Idk how you got 2.1.0a since in the nightly-build it's 2.0.4a
It's an alpha version
