Random glitches and stuttering
Hey guys, I've recently pulled the trigger and ditched off Windows. All went smooth sailing until I started using the machine in any great detail. Brave and Discord flicker and the typing on the applications is all over the place, jumping around. I switched to x11 which helped the flickering and gooft typing. But playing my first game has some pretty terrible tearing and its not a demanding game. When Alt+Tabbing the whole computer just freaks out for a moment. Any idea's on how I can get this running smoother before I try another distro?

Nvidia drivers on Linux:
wait 2-3 weeks, bazzite will have the newest drivers that should fix some of the issues
So a gaming distro I got to wait to game on. Thats hella frustrating 🥲

only graphics driver vendor who won't open source their drivers on linux
so you're reliant on them
How come theres an nvidia release if it doesn't work properly? Surely good practice to release when working as it should?

X11 is 40 years old
And it's been the default up until very recently
Nvidia isn't ready for Wayland specifically, on X11 you should have no issues that aren't either as old as X or fixable by the end user.
OK, I'll hang tight a couple of weeks before selling nvidia for an AMD card 🥲
I really don't want to go back to Windows
You can switch to X11 on the login screen, click the bottom left if you are running KDE

Yeah you're just going to have to wait for the new 555 NVIDIA drivers with explicit sync support to come into Bazzite. Flickering in NVIDIA Wayland has been a known issue for a long time, and there's nothing that can be done until 555 comes out. Screen tearing in X11 is a common issue; if you wish to avoid it, try enabling "Force Force Composition Pipeline" in Nvidia settings
Note this isn't an ideal solution, but it will stop the screen tearing
