Distant Horizons 1.20.4 & Shaders + Immersive Portals
Loving DH 2.0 and been testing the limits of whats possible with mod combinations and ive been using Immersive portals to test DH as well and noticed it works just fine without shaders. When you enable DH with Immersive portals and a compatible shader the Lods no longer work for whichever dimension you travel too only the dimension you spawned in and the background begins to smear. This is not the case without shaders though. Any ideas on what could be done? Since it works without shaders I imagine it maybe could be possible with the right settings. Any help would be appreciated. If this is not possible no worries just wanted to see if anyone has tested it also.

If the “smearing” you’re talking about is what I think it is then setting transparency to complete in the graphics settings should fix it
Some of the DH compatible shaders have not been tested in dimensions besides the over world so it may be an issue with the shaders rather than DH
transparency is set to complete and the shaders work normally if you spawn in the nether
then the overworlds lods dont work
when using immersive portals that is
ill try to capture an example of it
here is an example of me spawning in the overworld and lods and shaders work correctly but when i go through the seamless portal the lods dont work and just render whatever my normal chunk settings are

you cant see past my 4 chunk limit i set for testing
im not expecting any fixes but i think its interesting to report
maybe someone who wants to use the mods together can find some kind of a fix one day lol
