Memory climbs to max and crashes minecraft
I'm trying to setup a modpack with DH. Eventually the memory usage just climbs to max and the game is unplayable, no matter how much memory I've allocated to the game (tried 4, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16GB). Here is a screenshot of my mods folder. I've tried removing the mods to see if any of the is causing the issue, but doesn't seems like it.
There is no crash logs, mc just freezes and I have to force stop it
I've tried messing with the config from DH, using different generation modes, quality settings and chunk distance but no help
current settings: LOD Render Distance: 128, Quality: Medium, CPU Load: Low Impact
My computer specs:
16GBx3000MHz memory
256GB SDD (Minecraft is here)
1TB HD
AMD Ryzen 5600x
Radeon RX6600 8GB VRAM (with 8GB shared ram?)

Logs here
The rx6600 does not have 16 GB Vram
I'll take a look at the logs
Sorry, its 8GB Vram, with aditional 8GB shared ram
I don't exactly understand how that works, just looking at dxdiag information for my video card
You can't have both embeddium and optifine, I don't know if that is why there is so much ram usage, but try deleting one of them
Optifine? I've never installed it
That's weird, it's showing up a lot in the logs
Anyway, I just realized this is a fabric instance, embeddium is a forge mod
Oh wait, you're not using the fabric version of embeddium are you?
Ive added just now, since I read in another post about it. While loading the game, it told me to delete Sodium and Indium
Ive got it from Modrinth in a Fabric profile, i'm guessing that it only shows compatible mods?
By compatible, I mean "fabric only"
I don't know why it told you to delete sodium and lithium, but you should not use the fabric version of embeddium
Yes, you're right, I forgot embeddium was also on fabric
Try replacing embeddium with sodium and indium and show me what happens
If I try to load the game with both of them. I'll remove Embeddium, but like I said, I just installed it to test. It was doing the same thing while using Sodium+Indium
Remove embeddium completely
Deleted from "mods" folder
I was just showing what happens when they are together
Alright
By the way, whenever I launch the game, it says to update DH from 2.0.4-a-dev to 2.0.1-a, is this normal?
Press ignore always
I've been doing that
Testing it right now. It only happens when the game is focused
Again, frozen
Can you try with just DH?
Yup, just a second
Weird, It seems to be "fixed". Memory goes from 1GB to 6Gb, and drops back down
I will try to disable each mod, one by one, again, to see if it's some kind of compatibility problem, or just my hardware not being able to handle them
Is there a better way to track memory allocation by mods?
Unfortunately not
I just gave up and did a fresh install, removing some of the mods. Seems to be working now, even with 1024 render distance
Huh, alright
