How to load page in SPA after Modal Action

I created a new Action button to search for the ID, if it is found it shoudl load record to edit page, otherwise, put this ID to fill in the form in the create page. It works but I use redirect() to create/edit pages, which causes fully load page. I would like to load in SPA mode with update browser url of create/edit page. Please advise.
