I've been integrating the new meta and meta editor in 2.8.2 features to KIP and I don't receive displayName, shortName, longName, timeout and displayScales as part of the meta delta updates. Neither are they persisted to baseDelta.json.
methods, zones, description and units are fine
I also wanted your opinion on offering emergency methods and zone state in the editor. I was under then impression emergency was a "special" critical notifications and that it should not be tempered with due to predetermined rules.
Same could be said about normal state and method. Shouldn't normal simply be the default if no other states math?If so, maybe it should be left out of the editor.
It was my thinking in the spec PR I submitted and that no one could read 😉
What do you think @Scott Bender @Teppo Kurki ?
you'll have to be more specific than I don't receive - when I save
displayName
from metadata editor i get a delta with it just fine
What predetermined rules for emergency
?
You have a point re: normalOh. The issue was because my admin UI session had expired but it allowed me to edit and save meta without reporting that fact. My meta edit changes looked fine from a admin UI perspective but nothing got saved. Maybe something here to look at. After admin UI login all meta properties are saved and sent as delta. Sorry about that.
Well maybe not a « rule » per say, but I was under the impression that we should not edit the meta emergency related zone, state and method. That they are meant to be used for things like MOB, Fire, etc. and maybe not really meant to be tied to path data value state, or all kinds of paths. Just a thought.
