Crash with Distant Horizon in a modpack
Crash with Distant Horizon in a modpack (Forge 1.20.1. version 47.2.30)
This modpack has 297 mods, of which about 20-25 are optimization mods. As soon as I installed the mod, the game crashed before I could even reach the start screen. I'm attaching the log and crash report for your help. The attached image shows the last screen before the game crashes.

what's up with this one tho
does it also happen without DH? it is not mentioned in the error
what do you mean?
Yes, sorry. I don't know what is wrong with the log if it is the same in my folder. Sorry
No, I've been doing this modpack and I remove the distant horizon mod and it works.
I think he means that the log I sent is wrong because it only shows 2 lines of code. The last one I sent is correct.
aaah
can you try without the eatinganimation mod?
im gonna try
give me a minute
if that doesnt work, try the nightly build from #links-n-downloads
(but also make a backup of your LOD's because you cant go back)
Yes, I already have a copy. I've been working on the modpack since november last year and I have a bunch of copies haha.
Thanks
Ok, removing eating animations didn't work. But what did work was the nightly build of #links-n-downloads
at least I started the game and it did not crash. I will try in a world to see how it is generated, in case it has problems with alex's caves or something. Thank you very much :).
no problem!
Do you know if this version of Distant Horizon works in multiplayer?
It will work just as well as the version you previously used
So, yes, but with limitations
I'm just asking, because it's not working in multiplayer :c
I will check the forums to see if it is because of the configuration.
It won't generate new chunks outside your render distance in multiplayer
It should remember the chunks you've visited
yeah, I'm visiting the new chunks and all, but it doesn't remember them. It just works like the normal minecraft chunks loading. you move away and they stop being seen.
I set the minecraft chunks to 4 to make sure they really work but nope.
Hhmm weird, it could be because DH doesn't have enough cpu time to convert the vanilla chunks to LOD's, you could try turning up cpu load and moving slower if you haven't already
nop, I tried switching between values and raising the chunks a little but no change.
Hey, sorry to bother you but I remember putting a mod called “Farsight”, is it because of this mod that distant horizon will not generate the chunks?
No, farsight will very likely never interact with DH
But you can always try without it to see if something changes
