Dressing for my body shape
I've always loved dress pants and baggy clothing on other people but as a relatively short man with wide shoulders and chest they mostly look silly on me. How can I find a way to make clothing look better on me without wearing slim pants or clothing? What type of clothing should I go for to get that dark academia/ art/music student vibe?

There are a handful of shorter and/or wider people pulling off the fits you’re describing here, you may find some inspo in #waywt #waywt-highlights .
You might also find some inspiration looking at the city boy inspo album https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/comments/sm4znq/city_boygorpcorejapanese_americana_inspo_album or either of the How to Breathe albums (1. https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/comments/gjrd22/how_to_breathe_an_album/ | 2. https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/comments/gvzyzj/how_to_breathe_part_2/ ).
For “dark academia” specifically, you might want to look at Ivy inspo albums. I’d recommend putting together a handful of pictures of fits you like and sourcing items secondhand so you can experiment without breaking the bank.
Use clothes you own and like the fit of, measure them, and use those to determine whether an item on eBay or whatever might fit.
There are guides in #fashion-guides on buying secondhand that could help.
I think baggy or dress pants can definitely look good while being shorter and wider. Maybe consider pants with a higher waist. I think art student and dark academia are a bit different styles although they can overlap
I really love these albums you posted btw, didn't know they existed
We’ll get around to pinning them one day :p
Then it only comes to finding ones that fit in stores which will never happen😔
