Founded in 1996 by Jonny Johannson, the brand, a backronym of Ambition to Create Novel Expressions, is well known for their jeans, ._., and overall playful designs. What are your overall feeling regarding the brand?

Overall i think acne is cool. Works well to supplement a lot of styles, i think people probably look past them because theyre associated so heavily with their jeans
They some really cool shit in each collection and I definitely do not pay enough attention

but seriously great brand, people still associate them with face logo but they’re putting out some really avant garde stuff

One of my top 5 fav brands and probably if I had to wear one brand for the rest of my life it’d be acne
If you only know acne for jeans or face logo go look at their runways rn
Their jeans are sick though, the printed ones are cool period

I love acne.
They were so mediocre to me when they were talked about in the same breath with Our Legacy, Norse Projects and APC. The denim was mid their halo and they were kind of trying to be Gay Scandi Minimalism outside of that.
Since then, they've really repositioned themselves and frankly make really cool stuff. Even cooler is there is a pretty clear throughline from their old designs to now. Always love to see what they do.
It’s so interesting how Acne went full maximalist and grunge while Our Legacy also got really cool but not as experimental. APC just got a bit more modern and Norse Projects completely fell off
by far my favourite hoodie, super nice, decently cropped, and the hood actually fits my giant skull. Definitely keeping my eye out for some of the more interesting pieces.
i haven't kept up w/ any of those 3 brands bc of their price range but it's so interesting how mfad talks about them now when i viewed them as the same variants of scandi minimalism when it was sooo hot back then
