Middle Thumb Button Sticking
Hey all, Got a corne 6 column kit but I'm having a small issue I wonder if there is a fix for. The middle thumb button on the left side is not smooth when pressed unless I press it exactly in the middle of the keycap. It is a Kailh chock white switch that I ordered with the kit. I tried turning the cap around and swapping it with another thumb key just in case the cap was causing the switch to act weird.
It's hard to explain what it feels like. When pressing it feels like it's getting caught on a ledge and then snapping past it. Just makes for a fidgety typing experience. Any ideas?
Oh and it also doesn't look like the keycap is hitting the case at all. It's close but definitely not getting caught on the case.

I think I can help you with that!
It sounds like the switch itself might be the culprit. The "catching on a ledge" feeling you described is often caused by a misaligned or bent switch pin. Since you've already tried swapping the keycap and switching it with another thumb key, it's likely that the issue is with the switch.
Here's a possible solution:
1. Remove the keycap and inspect the switch. Check if the pins are bent or misaligned. If they are, try gently bending them back into place using a pair of tweezers.
2. If the pins look fine, try cleaning the switch. Sometimes, dirt or debris can cause the switch to act up. Use a soft brush or a can of compressed air to gently clean out any debris.
3. If cleaning doesn't work, you might need to replace the switch. Since you ordered the kit from us, you can reach out to our support team for assistance with replacing the switch.
It's great to hear that the keycap isn't hitting the case, so that's not the issue.
Let me know if you have any other questions or if there's anything else I can help you with!
Wow AI is freaky
Could you take a picture and point to where it’s sticking?
or are you saying you think it’s the switch sticking itself?
Sorry just saw this. I guess it's not sticking really. Only way I can describe it is that as I press the key down it's like it is slightly hitting a lip and then follows through to a full press. It just isn't smooth.
I'm not home but this is the exact set up I have. I drew to point out the key and side that it seems to get stuck on.
but you said it’s not hitting the case?
what’s it hitting?
That is what I can't figure out.
have you tried replacing the switch?
That's my next step. I need to grab a switch to swap with it.
Well just grab one from another spot on the keyboard
