barely working at all
just having rendering enabled basically drops my frames by half (lowest preset) and LOD chunks take hours to load

I get better performance and higher render distance just maxing out the vanilla slider
Generating the LODs is like generating your world
It takes a while and uses a lot of your cpu
I get a singular LOD chunk appearing every couple of minutes
pretty sure it should be a bit faster than that
I did just manage to fix that, but the performance is still horrible
what hardware do you have?
3070, i7-10700F
8 gigs allocated
what is the performance like when generating distant chunks is disabled?
about a 15 fps increase
percentage wise
does that make it more playable, or is it barely noticable
barely noticable
at least to me
I'm on 80 with generation enabled
what is your render distance? both DH and vanilla?
12, 128
shaders off?
shaders on
off is 130
both DH and shaders off I'm getting 350
then the fps is expected
when LOD's are loading slow, how high is the cpu load preset?
balanced, switching to higher ones doesn't seem to do much but ruin performance even more
alright then ☹️
world gen mods?
and what do you consider slow? how long for 10 chunks to be generated for example?
nope, only got the required ones
the slow loading could be because the cpu is to busy running shaders. can you try with shaders off?
I did manage to fix the slow loading
not sure what caused it, but I just redownloaded the mod and that helped
huh alright
well, if it works it works
I guess so
are there any things that could be done on the dev side to improve performance, or do I just have to live with this until I can upgrade
yes, a lot probably, but performance improvements can be hard to implement
just look at voxy, which has way better performance
