OpenSaas template updates pull into project

Hi there! My question would be if there are any updates on the OpenSaas templates, how can we pull this into our project where we have our own repository?

Hi @jindo. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base. ---------------------- The OpenSaaS template is used in conjunction with the Wasp binary that you install on your development machine. This binary is not saved in your git repository. When you want to update Wasp, you install the new version on your development machine. If there are breaking changes, you will need to update your application's codebase to work with the new version of Wasp. The Wasp team provides detailed instructions and even scripts to help with this process for significant updates source (https://discord.com/channels/686873244791210014/1210312601158946826). Here's a brief summary of the process: 1. Install the new version of Wasp on your development machine. 2. Update your application's codebase to work with the new version of Wasp. 3. Follow the detailed instructions provided by the Wasp team for significant updates. Remember, your own repository is separate from the Wasp/OpenSaaS updates. You'll need to manually integrate any changes or updates from the OpenSaaS template into your project. ---------------------- Note: you can ask me a follow up question by @ mentioning me again :speech_balloon: ---------------------- Sorry @jindo, I seem to be having a bit of trouble. Don't worry though, I've pinged my support and they will try to fix me up! :technologist: Perhaps try again in 15mins?

Hi @jindo, the bot's answer is correct for updates to Wasp, the framework the OpenSaas template is built in. As for updates to the template itself, there's no easy way to get those (other than checking the repository for changes and including them yourself). It's a template, so once you start building on it, it's job is done 🙂 This shouldn't be a problem, since you will probably change a lot of what comes with OpenSaas (as you should). It's just a starting point, not something meant to be updated. Hope that makes sense 🙂
