Distant Horizons are unable to allocate bytes.
Distant Horizons crashes regularly with the latest nightly build for Quilt 1.20.1 as it's unable to allocate bytes.
Solved! Thank you, hardester.

I first thought it might be mod incompatibility, so I removed every other mod, but even with only Distant Horizons, QFAPI, and the Mod Menu, it still crashes with the same error.
Haven't tried Quilt but, does Distant Horizons need QFAPI to work on it?
Does Distant Horizons need the Fabric API?
Likely? I mean almost every Fabric mods in existence needs Fabric API.
Anyways, based on the game logs, somehow Distant Horizons fails to allocated 1 MB of memory, which doesn't sound correct.
Then it needs the QFAPI for Quilt instances, as Quilt is a fork of Fabric.
I haven't met this problem until using the nightly build on my Windows boot, not on Fedora or on a stable release.
I have the default settings for all three mods and the Java instance, including the default value for allocated memory.
New lead. It's not Minecraft, but after installing Borderlands 3, it gave the same error.
I highly recommend running
memtest
by that point.I looked into it and this might be the reason.
:waaaaaa:
Why?!
I believe it was when I tried to shrink a part of my
C:\
drive for my Fedora installation, I guess I forgot to set it back.Fair enough.
Would the automatic setting work?
Solution
Should Just Work™️.
Would I need to reboot my system?
Of course.
This might be why CS2 was also not working even after reinstalling. 😓
By the way, you would absolutely need a use-case for needing to fine tune the page size, one of them is needing large memory buffer for loading up LLM of some sort and you don't have enough system memory for that.
Back from a reboot. Should I go ahead and try Minecraft and Borderlands 3?
Or do I need to configure something else first?
Good news. Minecraft worked. Let me let Epic finish re-verifying BL3 and I'll try it out too.
Both work! Thank you.
